I remember when I was first starting out as an entrepreneur, I didn’t know anything. I ended up taking lots of bad advice mostly from people who were working in their 9 to 9 jobs and weren’t entrepreneurs.
Then when I jumped in I started trying to piece things together. I never had a great business idea, didn’t know who to target, I just wasn’t prepared.
I wish I had known these 5 tips because I would have avoided so many frustrations, confusion, wasting of money and discouragement.
Let’s get into the 5 tips to start an online business.
👨🏾💻 1. Develop an entrepreneurial mindset. To be an entrepreneur you have to start thinking like one. Stop thinking like an employee and think like an entrepreneur. Understand how you want to make a difference, spend money on the right resources, understand the power of social media and networking. Everyday start listening to entrepreneur podcast, following them on social media, and start thinking
👨🏾💻 2. Unlock your PASSIONATE idea. So many people jump into online businesses just to make money and have no passion for what the ya re doing. They do dropshipping, or become affiliates for products they don’t believe in or do the next thing…The key to starting a successful online business is starting with something you actually love to do.
👨🏾💻 3. Test your idea. Before going all-in with your biz idea, test it out. Put it out there to friends and family, a small group of people online, run a small test and get feedback.
👨🏾💻 4. Create a side-hustle. I secretly had a side business going on for 4 years and wrote a book and no one knew at my workplace. This doesn’t mean you don’t have to make your side hustle public, however, start targeting potential clients and stepping up your biz efforts.
👨🏾💻 5. Make the leap. Once you are confident your business idea is a BUSINESS and you have earned revenue and saved up enough money to keep you going for 8 to 12 months. Set a date t work towards and work hard to making it happen. Make the leap into your online business full-time.
These are a few things I wish I need before I started my coaching and online teaching business years ago when I made the leap.
