How do you move forward in your life when you are stuck? Earlier I did a Facebook Live breaking down how to stop being stuck and move your life forward. In the live I talked about the 4 changes to make that will change your life and the #1 thing you can do to create more peace, calm and happiness in your life right now.
In this time of uncertainty with covid-19 many people are stressed, anxious and worried and now is the time to create more peace and calm and focus on the things that we have control over.
First let’s break down the 4 changes that will change your life.
1. Change Your Language

3. Change Your Beliefs
4. Change Your Habits
CHANGE YOUR LANGUAGE
Change what you say to yourself and say about yourself. Stop with the negative language, stop saying you cannot do something, stop saying no one loves you, stop thinking you are not worthy.
Replace negative language with positive language. Start with a mantra of affirmation ( a statement of the amazing things about yourself) you can write your own or find one online. Also, be grateful, think of the things you are grateful for when you are feeling down or when you feel that you are not where you want to be in life.
CHANGE YOUR ACTIONS
Change the things you do every day if they are not helping you to better yourself. No more watching hours of TV or Netflix, no more gossiping for hours about other people, no more eating terrible food every day. Do things that will help you better yourself. Exercise, eat healthy, read, learn something, join a group like Toastmasters, find a mentor, hire a coach. Do things that will move your life forward.
CHANGE YOUR BELIEFS
Change what you believe is possible in your life. Many of us don’t set big goals, we don’t take massive action to change things in our lives because we don’t think it’s possible. When you understand that mistakes and failures are lessons and you have to step outside of your comfort zone to really transform your life you will start to go from thinking IMPOSSIBLE to POSSIBLE! Know this PROGRESS=BELIEF You don’t have to believe in yourself to get started, just get started. The more progress you make the more you will believe you can achieve things in your life or change your situation.
CHANGE YOUR HABITS
Change your habits that aren’t serving you well. Whether they are bad habits like smoking, buying take out food daily, or watching hours of Netflix, you need to replace those habits with habits that will help better your life.
These are the four changes that my coaching clients and I have made that have lead to MASSIVE shifts in our relationships, confidence, clarity, finances, health and businesses.
Now the question is, HOW? The is one things all successful people do that most people aren’t. It’s the one thing that you can start doing right now that will have a POWERFUL positive effect in your life today!
THE #1 THING TO DO TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE
Develop a MORNING RITUAL! I talked about this in my book YOU HAVE THE KEYS NOW DRIVE. Successful people, people living life on their own terms all have some type of morning ritual. A morning ritual is a set of activities that you look forward to every morning that create more peace, calm, happiness and focus in your life. It sets up your day, month and year for success.
I talk about 8 M’s to a Powerful Morning Ritual in my book, but I mentioned 5 of them here. This are the most powerful M’s.
If you start your day with this you will definitely shift your life in a positive way,.
1. Meaning (gratitude)
3. Mantra (affirmation)
4. Movement (exercise)
5. Massive Action on goals and learning
Waking up everyday being grateful sets the tone for your day, week, month, year, life. When you wake up and thank God or the universe or your creator for all that you have, you are opening the door to more blessings, more attraction of the things you want. Think about it, why would you be given more if you aren’t grateful for what you have. As soon as you wake up think of 5-10 things that you are grateful for, you can journal them if you like and go back and look at your entries months later. Be sure to think of new things you are grateful for and not just the same things everyday as well.
I’m not sure if you are into meditation or not…If you are, that’s awesome, keep doing it. If you’re not, now might be the time to try it out. Meditation doesn’t have to be about chanting, an hour long quiet session or any other view that you may have. It can be as simple as starting your morning sitting quietly for 3-5 minutes setting your intentions for the day. Or visualizing what you want in your life. It’s a way to calm your mind, create more peace, and gain more clarity on what you really want in your life. If you need help, download a free meditation app on your Smartphone or pull up a meditation on YouTube, they have lots! There are meditations for many things, increase wealth, abundance, clarity, confidence, reduce stress, wellness, parenting, relationships, anxiety and os much more. Find a few that work for you.
Many people have misconceptions of mantra or affirmations as well. They are not just a bunch of words that mean nothing or a phrase you mumbled to yourself or something you chant just for the sake of it. Mantras are powerful statements, words, or chants that get you to elevate yourself and get rid of negative thoughts and language. You are what you say you are. If you say lots of negative things about yourself and you don’t believe you can achieve things in your life, then you will believe it and acts in that way. You must replace the negative thoughts and self talk with powerful language. Language that legends use. Language that winners and successful people inspire themselves with everyday. Create your own mantra or find one online that resonates with you and say it to yourself in the morning and throughout the day. Eventually you will start to believe it and your actions will change according to that belief.
I know I don’t have to tell you about the importance of exercise, you already know. It is essential for your physical health. It increases your mental health by increasing the endorphins in your brains which what makes us feels good. It reduces stress, helps us solve problems, tap into our creativity and so much more. When you start your day in movement you are increasing so many areas of health and wellness within yourself. Do at least 5-10 minutes of exercise everyday. You can go for a quick walk or run, pull out your bike, or do an at home workout. Just jump on YouTube and you will find tons of at home workouts for all fitness levels and all times. Commit to yourself and your health so you will be at your best for the ones you love and at your best to pursue your goals and dreams.
Use the morning to take action on your personal and professional development and your goals. You would be surprised what you can do in 10-20 minutes each morning with dedicated time to learn something, read something or take action on a big goal. It adds up. If you are looking for a new job, do some job searching or book mark jobs that you can apply for later. If you have a fitness goal get going on it. If you have a goal to start a business, follow some people online who teach you how to do that (like me) *smile* or others who are doing what you want to do. Maybe you have been wanting to learn something new. Use that time in the morning and on your commute to work to learn a language, listen to podcasts or read a book. By the way, I wrote my book YOU HAVE THE KEYS, NOW DRIVE mostly in the morning on my commute to work on the subway on my iphone and ipad. No excuses!
Incorporating a powerful morning ritual will help you make those 4 changes that will change your life. Make a commitment to waking up 20-60 minutes early every day and doing your morning ritual and I am sure that your life will change in a very big way just like mine did.
